If you want to go far, go together."

Hi, I’m Matt!
A therapist, author and advocate, usually spotted with a slight smile and funky head nod that runs a tightrope to any beat between Kendrick Lamar and Isaac Hayes.

I place compassion at the core of my work. It is my belief that there are no wrong feelings, and my continual hope is to work with you to build a safe space where we can sit in the discovery of our authentic selves and be able to walk alongside each other toward your goals.

Additionally, I find social justice to be an inescapably interwoven piece of our work as therapists. Because of this, I practice acknowledging the presence and impact of various systems in your life, while mindfully listening to what you believe can be helpful in your journey towards liberation.
Who am I?

A child born to two parents, who, not without scars, climbed up from poverty and oppression in the unforgiving streets of Baltimore, Maryland. A man whose parents hoped for him the
privilege of dreaming.
I aspire to be, as Ms. Angelou chanted, “the dream and the hope of the slave.” But if you ask me who I am, I’ll reply, as a practitioner of Zen, with the truth: Don’t know.
As a human, my heart’s intent is to find words, and live actions for myself and those with open ears to continually perceive world sound. For me, building compassionate community necessitates challenging systems as well as myself. And so, I continually aspire to a life that possesses the properties of water: Taking any form to reach all places.
